A five-member security delegation of the England Cricket Board, along with officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board, visited the headquarters of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, where they were given a detailed briefing on the security arrangements made for cricket matches to be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi and the modern surveillance system.
British Cricket Officials Included in Delegation
The England Cricket Board’s security delegation included Director of International Operations Rob Hillman, Director of Security of the England and Wales Cricket Board Reg Dickason, and Chief Executive Officer of the England Players Cricket Association Daryl Mitchell, along with other officials.
The delegation met with senior officials of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority and reviewed various aspects of security during the visit of the international cricket team to Pakistan.
Briefing on Modern Surveillance System
MD Safe City Muhammad Ahsan Younis and Chief Operating Officer Mustansir Feroze briefed the British delegation on the Safe Cities Authority’s modern surveillance system, command and control mechanism, and security operations.
The officials told the delegation that various locations are continuously monitored through modern technology, while an integrated system is in place for immediate communication and effective action among the relevant institutions in case of any emergency situation.
Monitoring of Team Routes and Key Locations
The British delegation was also informed about the security plan prepared for the matches to be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi. During this, a detailed briefing was given on the arrangements for monitoring the team’s travel routes, airports, hotels, parking areas, and other important locations.
The officials said that special arrangements for communication and coordination among various institutions have been made to ensure security during the team’s movement in both cities.
Practical Review of AI Technology
The delegation also reviewed the method of monitoring through modern cameras and smart surveillance systems installed in Lahore and Rawalpindi. During this, the British officials were informed about the use of artificial intelligence-based video analytics and other modern technologies.
The AI-based surveillance system helps in the timely identification of suspicious activities and important incidents.
Security Arrangements Completed for Tri-Nation Series
During the briefing, it was stated that coordinated security arrangements for the tri-nation cricket series being held in Lahore and Rawalpindi have been completed in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.
The officials said that comprehensive planning has been carried out for the security of various important points, including the teams’ movement, accommodation, and match venues.

The England security delegation expressed special interest in AI-based monitoring, the digital evidence system, and the technology used for real-time monitoring of the situation.
