Marka-e-Haq

To mark the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, two major ceremonies were held in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

In the morning, a ceremony took place at GHQ, Rawalpindi, attended by Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Addressing the ceremony, he said Pakistan, its people, and the armed forces achieved an unprecedented victory in Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-am-Marsoos.

He described the conflict as a decisive battle between two ideologies, in which truth prevailed while falsehood faced defeat.

Syed Asim Munir said India dreams of altering the balance of power in the region by subjecting Pakistan to military aggression and diplomatic isolation, but this ambition is far beyond its capacity, and Pakistan will never allow it to succeed.

The Army Chief said India suffered heavy human and material losses in the conflict, the consequences of which it will continue to bear for years to come.

He added that Fatah missiles and the Shaheens of the Pakistan Air Force successfully targeted more than twenty-six enemy military installations.

Field Marshal Asim Munir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and President Asif Ali Zardari also attended the ceremony held later in the evening in Islamabad.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu are also present.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani, and Federal Minister Aleeem Khan are also among the key personalities present at the ceremony.

PM Shehbaz began his address at the Pakistan Monument by observing one minute of silence for those martyred during the period of conflict.
