ISLAMABAD: The facilitator and handler of the Islamabad suicide attack were arrested within 40 hours of the tragic incident and shifted to an undisclosed location.
Twelve people were martyred and 30 others injured in the blast at the Islamabad Judicial Complex.
According to sources, the facilitator was arrested in Rawalpindi, while the handler was caught in Khyber Pakhtunkhwaa and is said to be from Afghanistan. Both have been moved to an unknown location for further interrogation.
Initial investigations revealed that the facilitator had arrived in Rawalpindi a month ago and had been living in Dhok Paracha. Before the bombing, he conducted reconnaissance of the judicial complex along with the suicide bomber.
Sources said the facilitator had also planned to survey important locations in Rawalpindi Cantt.

According to the report, he reached Islamabad on Friday and went to the G-11 courts on a motorcycle. He was wearing a shawl during the attack. Police said the blast involved about eight kilograms of explosives and ball bearings.
Islamabad’s IG said one motorcycle and one car are under investigation.
While other parts of the country have seen suicide attacks in recent years, Islamabad had remained relatively calm. The capital was last targeted three years ago, when a police officer was killed and several others were injured.
