Citizens whose fingerprints have faded or become difficult to recognise no longer need to worry, as the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an alternative technology to address the issue.
Speaking to the media, a NADRA spokesperson said the authority had received complaints from citizens experiencing difficulties due to faint or unclear fingerprints.
The spokesperson said an alternative biometric verification facility had been introduced for people facing difficulties with fingerprint identification. The facility will enable individuals to complete the identification process even if their fingerprints are unavailable or cannot be recognised by biometric machines.
According to the spokesperson, the new facility aims to address the problems faced by citizens whose fingerprints, for various reasons, cannot be accurately detected by biometric devices. Such individuals will now be able to verify their identities through an alternative procedure.
Officials said some citizens face difficulties when accessing services at various institutions because their fingerprints are either unavailable or cannot be accurately identified by biometric devices. These issues are particularly common during biometric verification at banks.
