The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the schedule for the MCQs-Based Preliminary Test (MPT) 2027, confirming the online application deadline and examination date for candidates aspiring to appear in the CSS 2027 competitive examination.
According to an official public notice issued by the FPSC, candidates can submit their online applications for the CSS MPT 2027 until August 20, 2026. The commission has made it clear that no applications will be accepted after the deadline, urging applicants to complete their registration well in advance.
The CSS MPT 2027 will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, simultaneously across 19 cities in Pakistan. Applicants will be able to select their preferred examination centre while submitting the online application. However, FPSC said the final allocation of centres will depend on the number of candidates and administrative requirements.
The commission reiterated that only candidates who pass the MPT will be eligible to appear in the CSS 2027 written examination, making the preliminary test a mandatory stage of the CSS selection process.
FPSC has also advised applicants to carefully review the eligibility criteria, age limit, educational qualifications, examination rules, and other conditions before submitting their applications. Detailed instructions and the application procedure are available in the official public notice.
Candidates are also asked to verify all information entered in their online applications and ensure the prescribed examination fee is submitted on time, as applications will be considered complete only after the fee is submitted.
The CSS examination is regarded as Pakistan’s most prestigious and competitive recruitment process for selecting officers for various federal government services. Since the introduction of the MPT, the preliminary screening process has become more structured and effective.
FPSC has encouraged aspiring candidates to complete their registration without delay and intensify their preparation to improve their chances of success in the upcoming examination.
