The federal government has announced a reduction of Rs 22 per litre in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel as an Eid gift to the public.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the government has continued to provide relief to the people even in the most difficult economic conditions, and petroleum product prices were also reduced last week.
The statement said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had promised the nation that relief would be provided as soon as fiscal space became available.
According to the announcement, the Prime Minister has announced a reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 22 per litre, which will take effect from midnight tonight.
The federal government has continued to support the people even in the most difficult circumstances. The government has provided fuel subsidies to users of public transport, goods transport, motorcycles, and rickshaws. He also noted that this relief was given at a time when petrol queues were forming in other countries.
After the reduction, the new price of petrol has been set at Rs 392.78 per litre, while the new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs 392.58 per litre.
On the other hand, crude oil prices have also declined in the global market. The price of British crude oil fell by $1.46 per barrel, bringing it to a new level of $92.25 per barrel. Meanwhile, US crude oil also dropped by 73 cents, reaching $88.17 per barrel.
