‘Enemy taught historic lesson under Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership’

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has praised the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Pakistan Armed Forces for their role in Marka-e-Haq.
Addressing the oath-taking ceremony of newly appointed members of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Council, the PM said that the Armed Forces had taught the enemy a historic lesson.
PM Shehbaz Sharif credited Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership for the military’s response. He said the lesson taught to the enemy would not be forgotten.
“Under the brave leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Pakistan Armed Forces taught the enemy a historic lesson in Marka-e-Haq, a lesson the enemy will never forget,” PM Shehbaz Sharif said.
The prime minister also praised the courage and services of Pakistan’s Armed Forces during his address.
Recently, a delegation of the US Afghanistan War Commission met with CDF COAS Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
The delegation was led by Co-Chairs Shamila N. Chaudhary and Dr Colin F. Jackson. The group is reviewing the United States’ 20-year involvement in Afghanistan.
The delegation acknowledged Pakistan’s role and sacrifices during the Afghanistan conflict.
It also appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts to support peace and stability in the region.

PM Shehbaz urges PTI to abandon protest politics

Previously, PM Shehbaz Sharif urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to stop its politics of sit-ins and long marches.
He said the government had made serious efforts to resolve political issues through talks and mutual understanding.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kashmir Chowk Underpass in Islamabad, PM Shehbaz said the government had held detailed talks with the PTI.
He said the government’s negotiating team was clearly told to resolve political matters through dialogue instead of confrontation.
