Four exciting matches are scheduled for Saturday in the 23rd FIFA World Cup, as the world’s biggest football spectacle continues across North America.
The tournament, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, has ushered in a new era for international football with FIFA expanding the competition from 32 to 48 teams. The revamped format has opened the door for more nations to compete on football’s grandest stage, promising greater diversity, drama, and competition.

In the first match on Saturday, Group B teams Qatar and Switzerland will face each other at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, United States. The second match will feature Group C sides Brazil and Morocco at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, United States. In the third match, Haiti will take on Scotland at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, United States. The fourth and final match of the day will see Group D teams Australia and Turkey compete at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada.
Argentina, the defending champions, will be aiming to retain their title. The 48 teams participating in the tournament are: hosts Mexico, Canada, and the United States; South Africa, South Korea, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, Switzerland, Paraguay, Australia, Turkey, Argentina, Algeria, Austria, Jordan, Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, Scotland, France, Senegal, Iraq, Norway, Germany, Curaçao, Ivory Coast, Ecuador, England, Croatia, Ghana, Panama, Portugal, DR Congo, Uzbekistan, Colombia, Belgium, Egypt, Iran, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Japan, Tunisia, Sweden, Spain, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay.
The 48 teams have been divided into 12 groups of four teams each. The Round of 32 will be played from June 28 to July 3. The Round of 16 will follow from July 4 to July 7, while the quarter-finals are scheduled for July 9 to July 11.
The first semi-final will be played on July 14, followed by the second semi-final on July 15. The third-place playoff is scheduled for July 18, while the final will take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, United States.
