Square Enix has officially revealed Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the last part of the ambitious Final Fantasy VII remake series.
The game is set to launch in Spring 2027 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox on PC), Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X❘S.
Along with the announcement, a reveal trailer and gameplay showcase were released.
Following FFVII Remake and FFVII Rebirth, the trilogy’s conclusion will finally determine the fate of Cloud, his friends, and the planet itself.
The remake’s hybrid real-time and tactical combat system returns with enhanced customisation, new abilities, and a story influenced by player choices that affect character arcs.
The gameplay presentation also highlighted familiar locations from the original game, such as Mideel, Wutai, and the Northern Continent, along with new playable characters Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind.
Players who have experienced Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth now have access to a “Streamlined Progression” option that provides quality-of-life improvements like unlimited HP/MP and quicker ability unlocks for those wanting to swiftly catch up on the story.
Furthermore, players who transfer save data from the first two games into Revelation will receive the Chocobo & Moogle and Phoenix summon materia at launch.
Square Enix has also introduced a new FITS system that allows characters to wear unique outfits that change their movesets to reflect classic Final Fantasy jobs like Black Mage and Warrior.
