Fact check: Fitna al Khawarij's claim of capturing Hangu Fort completely false

A video shared by Fitna al Khawarij on social media is falsely claiming that the group had taken control of a Federal Constabulary (FC) fort in Hangu district, according to reports on Monday.

Security sources said that the claim is false. They say it is part of a propaganda campaign against Pakistan’s security forces.

According to the sources, the fort was not captured. They said the post was temporarily empty during the movement of security personnel.

Fitna al Khawarij entered the area only to record a video and left before security forces arrived.

The sources added that the fort is now fully under the control of the Pakistan Army. Security personnel have also been deployed at the site.

Authorities have asked the public not to believe false claims or misleading videos. They have also asked to avoid sharing unverified information on social media.
