Flour price again soaring in Peshawar adding to the problems faced by people. According to Flour Dealers Association the price of a 20 kg bag of mixed flour has risen from Rs2400 to Rs2500, whereas, a 20 kg bag of fine flour is being sold at Rs2700, up from Rs2600.
The demand and irregular supply are responsible for the price hike, said the association.
Experts say fluctuations in flour prices are common before Ramzan however the continuous rise in prices are pushing extra weights of burden on the public.
Frustrated with inflation the citizens have demanded urgent action from the government for controlling the prices and also providing relief to the common people.
It is worth mentioning that the flour rates had already gone high in major cities including Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi and others before Ramzan.
Earlier, the government announced massive discounts on essential groceries, particularly ghee, cooking oil, and flour, to reduce the burden on people in Pakistan during Ramzan 2026.
