Karachi police recovered four dead bodies, including two women, a man and a child, from a manhole near the Kolachi area, the private media outlet reported on Friday.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Asad Raza confirmed that the dead bodies were almost 10 to 15 days old.

The report also said that the dead bodies of four individuals have been shifted to a hospital for postmortem and legal procedures.
Police said after the initial investigation that there were signs of torture on the dead bodies. Blood traces in a manhole also confirm the torture on dead bodies, police maintained.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and directed relevant authorities to investigate the case properly and pinpoint responsibility.

CM Sindh assured citizens that the government will take necessary action against the individuals who are involved in the incident.

He further ordered that those involved be identified, arrested at the earliest and punished in accordance with the law. The SSP Kemari confirmed that the process of the victim’s identification has been initiated.
