The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has changed the date of the MCQ Preliminary Test (MPT) for the CSS Competitive Examination 2027.
According to an official public notice issued by FPSC, the CSS 2027 MPT will now be conducted on October 10, 2026 (Saturday).
The examination was previously scheduled to take place on September 27, 2026 (Sunday).
The latest notification has been issued in continuation of an earlier FPSC public notice dated August 2, 2026.

Why was the CSS MPT date changed?
FPSC explained that the decision was taken for the convenience of candidates appearing in CSS CE-2027 and to ensure that the preliminary examination can be conducted smoothly.
The protest scheduled for 27 September, the original examination date could have created difficulties for candidates travelling to examination centres or affected arrangements for conducting the test.
Additionally, FPSC has made it clear that all other terms and conditions concerning the MPT for CSS Competitive Examination 2027 will remain unchanged. Candidates should therefore continue their preparations according to the existing examination requirements and instructions issued by the commission.
On the other hand, earlier, the Punjab government announced a two-year relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates appearing in the Provincial Management Service (PMS) BS-17 combined competitive examination in 2026 and 2027.
Under the special one-time dispensation, candidates up to the age of 32 years will now be eligible to appear in the PMS examination conducted by the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).
The decision was notified by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) after amendments to the Punjab Civil Servants Recruitment (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rules, 1976 were approved by the Punjab governor.
