You can easily apply for free for an 8 week AI course that is approved by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC). Here is all you need to know.
Yesterday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Prime Minister’s Office under the chairmanship of Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.
The MoU has launched the ACT AI Initiative, Awareness, Competency & Tools Training for Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In addition to this, the programme has entered its operational phase after the signing of the MoU.
ACT AI eligibility criteria
Focal persons of universities have also been activated across the country. Students will be able to register through the official portal actai.aiskillbridge.pk
The first group for this program will begin training in the coming weeks. Future groups will run in two month cycles to maintain impact nationwide.
The programme is completely free. It also focuses on inclusion with a targeted 50:50 gender participation ratio.
Students from diverse academic backgrounds can enrol with or without Computer Science.

What is ACT AI
ACT AI is an eight week, competency based programme. It will teach practical, job ready skills in generative AI, agentic AI systems, AI productivity tools, automation, and sector specific applications to its students.
Training will be delivered through live sessions broadcast from Islamabad using the HEC Smart Classroom network.
The programme has four core pillars: Foundations of AI, AI Applications Across Sectors, AI for Economic Empowerment, and Future of AI and National Preparedness.
It will help students prepare for students for AI enabled jobs, freelancing, entrepreneurship, and global digital opportunities.
NAVTTC will serve as the national endorsement body. HEC will provide access through its university network and Smart Classroom infrastructure.
AI SkillBridge, supported by AXI Technologies, will lead programme execution and delivery.
ACT AI: what you need to know
The agreement makes ACT AI Pakistan’s first nationally coordinated, university level AI skills programme.
It is expected to help youth with skills needed for the global digital economy. Up to 6,000 students per group will be trained across about 100 universities.
These include institutions from all four provinces, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.
The programme will be executed by AI SkillBridge, supported by AXI Technologies.
