Pakistani students seeking higher education opportunities in the United States (US) can now apply for the Fulbright Student Program 2027.
Sponsored by the US Department of State and administered in Pakistan by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), the programme provides fully funded scholarships for graduate studies at leading American universities.
The scholarship primarily supports students pursuing Master’s degrees, while limited opportunities may also be available for PhD studies and selected non-degree programmes, depending on eligibility requirements.
Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive financial package, including tuition fee coverage, a monthly living stipend, round-trip international airfare, health and accident insurance, an allowance for books and study materials, J-1 visa sponsorship, and assistance with university placement.
The Fulbright Programme awards around 4,000 scholarships each year to students from more than 160 countries, making it one of the largest international academic exchange programmes in the world.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be Pakistani citizens residing in Pakistan and hold at least a four-year bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent of 16 years of education for Master’s applicants. They must also demonstrate a strong academic record, meet English language and university admission requirements, and commit to returning to Pakistan after completing their studies.
Students from all academic disciplines are eligible to apply, except those seeking scholarships in clinical medicine.
How to apply?
Those candidates who want to apply for the program can submit their applications through USEFP, which manages the Fulbright Programme in Pakistan.
According to USEFP, applications for the 2027-28 academic year are currently open. Interested candidates are advised to regularly check the official USEFP website for detailed eligibility criteria, application guidelines and important deadlines.
