The visa section of the German Embassy in Islamabad will remain closed from 20 April until at least 21 April 2026, following widespread road closures and heightened security arrangements in the capital linked to ongoing USA–Iran negotiations taking place in the region.
According to official communication, applicants have been advised not to visit the visa section during the closure period, as access to the embassy premises will be restricted due to security measures.
The embassy has further confirmed that all affected visa appointments will be rescheduled, and applicants will be informed through official channels regarding new appointment dates.
US President confirms delegation coming to Islamabad
It is worth mentioning here that US President Donald Trump has confirmed that a US delegation will be coming to Islamabad, Pakistan, tomorrow (Monday) for negotiations with Iran. In a post on Truth Social, he said, “My Representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan. They will be there tomorrow evening for negotiations.”
“We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran”, he added.
Last week, US Vice President JD Vance arrived in the capital city for peace talks; however, no deal was reached between the two countries.
According to Journalist Caitlin Doornbos, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, will be in Islamabad.
“Steve’s going to be going there tomorrow night,” Trump said in a phone call from the White House, confirming that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will land in Islamabad on Monday night ahead of a second round of peace talks, reports The New York Post.
Earlier, the authorities of the twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi declared a suspension of all kinds of movement, including private, public and transport of goods.
DC Islamabad declared that it is suspending the public and heavy transport in the federal capital, saying that the decision has been taken as part of administrative measures and urging citizens to cooperate with security agencies.
