Gold rate remains unchanged in Pakistan

Gold price in Pakistan

According to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola remained at Rs477,162 during the day. Similarly, 10-gram gold was available at Rs409,089.

On Monday, gold had recorded an increase of Rs900 per tola before settling at the same level that continued into Tuesday’s session, showing a pause in local market movement.

Silver prices also stayed unchanged, with per tola rate recorded at Rs8,099.

In the international market, gold prices came under pressure as global economic signals and interest rate expectations weighed on sentiment. Spot gold slipped 0.6 percent to $4,539.54 per ounce by 1040 GMT. Earlier, it had touched its lowest level in around one and a half months at $4,479.54 in the previous session.

US gold futures for June delivery also edged lower, falling 0.3 percent to $4,543 per ounce. The metal has been moving in a tight range as traders assess inflation concerns and the outlook for interest rates in the United States.

Market analysts say expectations of a more cautious stance from the US Federal Reserve, alongside inflation worries linked to global geopolitical tensions, are shaping investor behaviour. Higher interest rate expectations tend to reduce demand for gold, as the metal does not offer any yield.

US Treasury yields also remained near recent highs, adding further pressure on gold prices. At the same time, crude oil prices stayed elevated due to ongoing geopolitical tensions, keeping inflation concerns in focus for global markets.

Investors are now waiting for fresh signals from the US Federal Reserve, including minutes from its latest policy meeting due later this week, which may offer clues about the future direction of interest rates.

In other precious metals, silver dropped 2.3 percent to $75.86 per ounce, platinum declined 0.8 percent to $1,964.74, while palladium fell 1.9 percent to $1,391.86.

Overall, global uncertainty continues to drive cautious trading, while local gold prices in Pakistan remain unchanged for now.
