The Balochistan government has announced overseas PhD scholarships for talented young people from the province under the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund.

According to the private media outlet, the provincial government said 10 deserving candidates would receive scholarships every year to pursue PhD studies at leading international universities.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti welcomed the launch of the PhD scholarship programme, saying it would open new opportunities for the province’s youth and contribute to a brighter future for Balochistan.

Bugti said the process of sending young people to some of the world’s top universities had begun, describing it as a journey aimed at transforming the future of Balochistan.

He said the province’s young people would have opportunities to study at leading universities around the world and would not have to look beyond their province for opportunities.

The chief minister said the PhD scholarships would open new doors of hope, knowledge and development for future generations.

He added that the government was seeking to counter terrorism by promoting education, awareness and opportunities for development.

“Balochistan’s future belongs not to those who pick up guns and hide in the mountains, but to young people who pick up books and make their mark in the fields of knowledge and research,” Bugti said.

He said the government’s objective was to help Balochistan’s youth secure a prominent place on the global map of education and research.
