Cars are comprised of smart tools like Google Gemini around the world. In Pakistan and in the world, future driving will rely more on software than just engines.

Google is introducing its advanced AI assistant, into millions of cars. It will replace the older systems in vehicles that already have Google built in systems. This means drivers will get a clear voice experience while driving. With the use of Google Gemini, drivers can speak normally, like talking to a person and the bot will follow their command, instead of issuing rigid voice commands. For instance, you can ask it to find a good place to eat on your route, read or summarise messages, suggest music based on your mood, or even answer questions about your car to bring clarity about driving, such as battery level or charging needs. It makes conversations smoother and easier.

The rollout will start in English but is expected to expand to other countries and languages soon. However, this update is not only for new cars, rather many existing vehicles will receive it through wireless updates.

A major car company General Motors plans to bring Gemini to about 4 million vehicles from 2022 and newer models, including brands like Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC. They are also working on a more advanced version connected to their OnStar system.

This shows how cars are changing into “software platforms,” where new features can be added even after buying the car. Google first introduced built in apps like Maps and Play Store in cars in 2020, and now Gemini is the next and advanced goal. This change will make cars feel like smart companions.

The transition from in built apps to Google Gemini in cars shows a major shift toward smarter and AI-powered driving, which will act as a helpful assistant. Cars will become more convenient. Many companies might adopt this technology, making driving more connected and interactive in the future.
