Strong earthquake shakes Islamabad and other parts

Magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolts parts of Karachi

Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Pakistan’s federal capital, Islamabad and its surrounding areas, triggering panic among residents. People rushed out of buildings while reciting prayers.

According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale.

According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake had a depth of 125 kilometres, and its epicentre was located in the border region between Tajikistan and China. Although the magnitude was moderate, its significant depth caused tremors to be felt across a wide area.

Initial reports indicate no loss of life or property damage. However, authorities have been instructed to remain on alert.

On April 27, an earthquake was felt in parts of Pakistan. It was felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Swat, Malakand and Abbottabad, as well as other parts of Pakistan.

The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.7, and it originated at a depth of 170 kilometres. The residents who felt the tremors said that they were strong enough to be felt inside the homes and buildings.

The residents of Malakand felt Earthquake tremors in Batkhela city. Shocks were also felt by Swabi city and its surrounding areas.

Shangla and its nearby localities were also affected by the earthquake and felt the tremors. Reports also suggest that tremors were also felt in Battagram, Mansehra, Upper Dir and Torghar.

The epicentre was located near the Afghan-Tajik border. On the Richter scale, the intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 5.7 and the depth was 170 kilometres
