Government negotiating team signs final accord with AJK Joint Action Committee
A settlement has been reached between the federal government, the AJK government, and the Joint Action Committee, with all three parties signing the agreement.
Reports from Muzaffarabad confirm the accord after extended consultations between federal representatives and the Action Committee.
The Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) announced that talks with the government have concluded successfully, with both sides reaching an understanding.
Sources confirmed that a consensus has been achieved and that an official notification will be released soon.
The Awami Action Committee declared the outcome of the negotiations a success, marking an important breakthrough with the government, according to the reports.
News of the agreement sparked celebrations among participants and supporters, who gathered at key locations such as Azadi Chowk and Kohala to express their joy.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, who served as a negotiator in the talks, also confirmed the development.
Member of the government’s negotiation committee and Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry announced in a post on X that matters with the AJK Joint Action Committee have been settled, and the final agreement is expected to be signed soon.

He added that the last round of negotiations is underway, with public interest and peace as the top priorities.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, while speaking on a private television channel, confirmed that a “principled consensus” has been reached with the AJK Joint Action Committee.
Iqbal stated that the Prime Minister had sent a high-level committee to engage in talks, and those negotiations have led to an understanding. He further said that both sides are currently reviewing the draft agreement, which will be formally signed shortly.

The second round of talks between the federal minister, the Azad Kashmir government, and leaders of the rights movement began in Muzaffarabad today following Friday prayers. This round followed discussions held yesterday, which ended without any breakthrough.
