Govt approves recruitment of senior elementary teachers

Govt announces jobs, training for 25,000 unemployed youth

The Government of Pakistan has approved recruitment against vacant posts of Senior Elementary Teachers (BS-16) in Islamabad Model Institutions, according to an official notification issued by the Establishment Division.

The notification stated that the hiring process will be carried out by the Federal Directorate of Education under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training after completion of all required codal formalities.

As per the document, a total of 208 vacant posts of Senior Elementary Teachers (BS-16) will be filled. The vacancies include positions for male and female teachers in different subjects such as Physical Education and Drawing.

The notification stated that obtaining a prior No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Establishment Division is mandatory before initiating recruitment. It further clarified that no surplus employees with matching qualifications were available for adjustment against the reported vacancies, necessitating fresh recruitment.

The hiring process will be conducted through the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) in accordance with the government’s recruitment policy and financial regulations.

Officials said the move aims to address teacher shortages in Islamabad Model Institutions and improve the quality of education in federal educational institutions.

In a separate development, the Punjab government announced a major initiative to train 25,000 young people and connect them with employment opportunities, according to reports.

CM Youth Employability Program

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the plan under the CM Youth Employability Program. This step is expected to equip youth with digital skills and prepare them for global job markets.

The program was approved during a meeting of the Punjab Development Working Party.

The officials said that it will meet the growing demand in the IT and BPO sectors.

Jobs will be available in customer support, call centres, and digital marketing, among other fields.

Over the next five years, 25,000 young people will receive training in cities. These locations include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, and Sialkot.

The Punjab Skills Development Fund will oversee implementation and monitoring. The training will combine classroom learning with practical work environments.

In addition to this, payments will be made in three stages to the trainers. This will be based on performance.

All payments will be made via digital bank-to-bank transfers, and trainers will only be paid after verified employment results.

The government will cover all training costs, with a minimum education requirement of matriculation. But some flexibility will be allowed. Employment will be verified through payroll and third-party checks.
