After the approval, an office order was issued stating that the new allowances would apply to all employees of the Federal Constitutional Court with immediate effect. The order also says that extra allowances will not be given during extraordinary leave.

The Additional Registrar Admin said that in the order that the expenses will be paid from the court’s budget for the financial year 2025–26.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has shown strong concern over conflicting statements by the federal government about the dismissal and absence of employees, the reports say. It has declared the decision of the Federal Service Tribunal null and void.

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar has issued a written judgment in the case of former Ministry of Commerce employee Arsalan Ahmed. He has sent the case back to the tribunal for a fresh decision.

The Supreme Court has raised an important legal question in its judgment. It said that if an employee is to be dismissed, then what is the reason for turning the absence into leave?

Arsalan Ahmed was dismissed from service for being absent from duty, reports say. He said he could not return on time because his wife was seriously ill and flights were closed during the Corona.

The Supreme Court noted that after dismissal his period of absence was changed into leave without pay, according to the reports. It said this removes the legal basis for dismissal.

The written judgment also showed concern over the government’s changing position. It said the government first called it a mistake by a deputy secretary in the tribunal. Later in the Supreme Court it said the change was made with the approval of the Commerce Secretary, reports say.
