The Prime Minister’s IT Certification Reimbursement Programme has officially been launched, allowing IT graduates and professionals to receive reimbursements of up to Rs70,000 after successfully obtaining internationally recognised IT certifications.

The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), operating under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, has introduced the initiative to equip Pakistani youth with professional skills that meet international standards.

The programme aims to improve employment opportunities for Pakistani IT professionals in the global technology market while strengthening their technical expertise and professional qualifications.

Which IT certifications qualify for Rs70,000 reimbursement?

Under the programme, more than 50 internationally recognised IT certifications are eligible for reimbursement, including certifications offered by leading technology companies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft and Google.

Eligible candidates who successfully pass approved certification examinations can receive reimbursement of up to Rs70,000 per certification, subject to verification and programme requirements.

How to register for the IT certification reimbursement programme?

Applicants interested in benefiting from the programme must complete the following steps:

  1. Create an account: Visit the official registration portal at skills.techdestination.com and create your profile.

  2. Select a certification: Browse the list of approved IT certifications available on the portal, select your preferred certification and submit an application.

  3. Pass the certification exam: After submitting your application, appear in the certification examination conducted by the relevant international organisation and successfully pass it.

  4. Upload required documents: Once you have passed the examination, upload your official certification and proof of examination fee payment to the portal.

  5. Receive reimbursement: After the relevant team verifies your documents, the approved reimbursement amount of up to Rs 70,000 will be transferred to your account.

Important instructions for applicants

Candidates must submit their applications through the official portal before appearing in the certification examination.

Applicants who take the examination without registering and submitting an application in advance will not be eligible to claim reimbursement afterward.

Therefore, candidates are strongly advised to complete the registration process and review the approved certification list before paying for or attempting any examination.

Programme aims to strengthen Pakistan’s IT sector

According to PSEB, the initiative is designed to help Pakistani youth enhance their professional capabilities and compete more effectively in the international IT market.

The programme is also expected to support the growth of Pakistan’s freelancing industry and software exports by encouraging professionals to acquire globally recognised technical qualifications.

By providing financial assistance for international certifications, the government aims to reduce the financial burden on IT graduates and professionals seeking to upgrade their skills and improve their career prospects.
