Govt releases list of banned organisations, unregistered charities

The Punjab Home Department has released a list of 89 banned and monitored organisations ahead of Eid ul Azha.

According to a spokesperson, citizens have been advised not to donate sacrificial animal hides to these organisations or their affiliated institutions, as supporting such groups is considered a criminal offence under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.

The department warned that individuals found assisting banned organisations would face legal action. Authorities also stated that registration with the Punjab Charity Commission is mandatory for charitable organisations operating in the province and citizens should donate hides only to registered welfare institutions.

Officials said organisations can be verified through the QR code printed on their registration certificates to ensure donations reach deserving individuals.
