Haris Rauf likely to miss ICC T20 World Cup

ICC Suspends Haris Rauf for Two Matches

Pakistan might suffer major blow, as the fast bowler Haris Rauf will likely miss the Pakistan squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

As per the sources, the head coach Mike Hesson is not in favor of including him since the Asia Cup final.

The fast bowler Haris Rauf is unlikely to be included in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

Sources say that Haris Rauf has not played any T20 matches for Pakistan since the conclusion of the Asia Cup, which has stuck his chances of selection.

The team management is said to be focusing on other pace options ahead of the mega event.

Now Haris Rauf is playing in Australia’s Big Bash League and he remains active in franchise cricket.

However, despite his ongoing performances, his absence from international T20s appears to have worked against him in the World Cup selection process.

Earlier it was reported Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dropped Haris Rauf from the Sri Lanka tour as well.

As per details, Pakistan had announced a 15-member squad for the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, scheduled to take place later next month.

According to PCB’s press release, “All-rounder Shadab Khan has returned to the T20I side. Salman Ali Agha, who featured in a record 34 T20I matches, the most by a Pakistan player this year, will continue to lead the side in the forthcoming series.”

The 27-year-old Shadab, who last represented Pakistan in June this year, underwent shoulder surgery earlier in the year. Following a successful rehabilitation programme at the National Cricket Academy, he is currently featuring in the Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia, the PCB added.
