The Pakistani fast bowler, Hasan Ali, is the victim of a false viral claim, after a video shared on the Indian social media falsely claimed him as a man who was beaten up on a train for stealing.
The video has been inaccurately and misleadingly circulated, allegedly depicting Hasan Ali, however, the person in the video is not Hasan Ali.

The video of an alleged assault on a thin young man by passengers was wrongly spread and misrepresented as containing Hasan Ali.
The person in the footage doesn’t resemble the Pakistani cricketer.
Reacting to this misinformation, Indian-origin Samiya Khan, Hasan Ali’s wife, harshly condemned the dissemination of unverified information on social media.

She said that the couple had not come to India in the last three years and the allegation was utterly groundless.
In the post on social media, Samiya deplored the ease with which people of both nations accept and spread fake news without verifying its authenticity.
She also appealed to electronic, digital and social media platforms in both countries to verify information before publishing or promoting it, highlighting responsible journalism and fact-checking.
Lively personality and match-winning performances made Hasan Ali the favourite of Pakistan in all formats of international cricket.
He took three wickets for 19 runs in the final against India to help Pakistan win the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.
After the fake video circulated on Pakistani social media, numerous users criticised the person behind the fake video.
Many in the video pointed out that the man in the clip doesn’t resemble Hasan Ali, and that some of the social media pages were spreading false information without substantiating the facts.
