Strict action will be taken against individuals found dumping animal waste during Eid-ul-Azha.
The provincial government imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on such people.
For Eid-ul-Azha, special cleanliness plans have also been ordered for mosques, Eidgahs, and cattle markets, where public activity is expected to remain high.
Officials were directed to prepare a separate, comprehensive sanitation plan for each tehsil. They were also ordered to deploy additional staff and machinery to ensure timely waste collection and disposal during the Eid holidays.
Authorities were told to complete fitness checks of all waste collection points, dumpers, and machinery before Eid.
The District Administration of Islamabad has announced the establishment of six designated sacrificial animal markets across the federal capital in respect of the forthcoming event of Eid.
According to officials, the markets will be set up at Zia Masjid, I-12, Bara Kahu, Lehtrar Road, Sultana Foundation, Sangjani, and Japan Road. The process of setting up these cattle markets will commence on May 10.
The administration said the step has been taken to facilitate citizens and ensure organised arrangements for the buying and selling of sacrificial animals ahead of the religious festival.
When is Eid-ul-Azha?
The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has predicted that there are strong chances of celebrating Eid-ul-Azha on May 27. Council Secretary-General Khalid Aijaz Mufti stated that scientific data support the expectation that the festival will fall on that date.
The council has released its scientific report concerning the sighting of the moon for Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH.
The scientific data indicate a strong possibility of Eid being celebrated in Pakistan on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
