The husband of murder victim Hina Javed and a domestic worker have been shifted to Lahore for DNA testing as part of the investigation into her killing.
According to details, police transferred two suspects, including the victim’s husband and domestic worker, to Lahore under tight security.
Police identified the suspects as Faisal Fayyaz Asghar, the victim’s husband, and Zeeshan, a domestic worker. Their three-day physical remand is also ending today.
Police said DNA samples of Hina Javed’s husband and co-accused Zeeshan will be examined at the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) laboratory in Lahore. After the DNA testing process is completed, both suspects will be brought back to Rawalpindi.
Police are also likely to conduct polygraph tests on the suspects to help make further progress in the investigation.
Regional Police Officer Babar Sarfraz briefed the media during a press conference yesterday about the arrests and the progress made in the investigation so far.
According to police, the process of collecting evidence and conducting further investigations into the Hina Javed murder case is ongoing.
Earlier, Hina Javed reports after her post-mortem revealed several injuries on her body. The case has caused widespread concern across Pakistan.
According to the post-mortem report, Hina Javed had a fractured neck bone. Injury marks were also found on her ribs and hip. The report further found blood around the membrane surrounding her heart.
According to the FIR, her hands were tied behind her back. Her mouth had allegedly been covered with cloth, while a wire was found around her neck.
Police have arrested Hina’s husband, Faisal Asghar, and worker Zeeshan in connection with the case. A Rawalpindi court has granted police a three-day physical remand of both suspects as the investigation continues.
Hina reportedly married Faisal in November 2025. Her family has alleged that she had faced domestic abuse before her death. Police are investigating the case as a murder and gathering forensic and other evidence.
