Citizens suffering from heat and humidity have received some relief from the weather department, with a new monsoon spell expected to enter Islamabad and other upper parts of the country from August 27.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a fresh spell of thunderstorms and rain is likely to begin in the federal capital from August 27. Strong winds are also expected during the rainfall.
The weather in Islamabad is expected to remain hot over the next two days, with temperatures likely to reach 36°C on August 26.
Meanwhile, Karachi residents continue to face hot and humid conditions, with a decrease in the speed of sea breezes.
The PMD said Karachi’s maximum temperature is expected to reach 33°C today. Due to high humidity, the weather will feel hotter and more humid. The current temperature was recorded at 29°C, with humidity at 75%.
Winds are blowing from the southwest at a speed of 12 kilometres per hour, while the weather is expected to remain hot and humid in the city today.
In Lahore, the intensity of the heat also continues. The current temperature was recorded at 33°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 37°C and the minimum 29°C today.
Overall, residents of Islamabad and upper areas may get temporary relief from the heat with the arrival of the new rain spell from August 27. However, people are advised to remain cautious during thunderstorms due to the possibility of strong winds and lightning.
In Karachi, hot and humid conditions are expected to persist for now. The coming days will remain important for weather conditions as temperatures could rise, while renewed monsoon activity in Islamabad and upper areas may bring a change in the weather pattern.
