Rescue 1122 has issued a high alert throughout the province of Punjab ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi to ensure the safety of the public during the festive period, as thousands of rescuers and emergency vehicles are being deployed.
Rescue 1122 has set up over 12,000 rescuers throughout the province to support medical coverage and deal with routine work and emergencies.
A total of 896 ambulances and 316 fire and rescue emergency vehicles will also be stationed at important locations across Punjab.
During Eid Milad-un-Nabi, over 1,300 rescuers will be working in Lahore, said Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer.
The crisis measures in the provincial capital will also involve 55 emergency ambulances and 300 rescue motorbikes to speed up their response in densely populated areas and along procession routes.

Further rescue posts will be set up at strategic areas in Punjab to provide prompt help to the citizens and participants.
Emergency personnel will be on standby during the festivities for any medical emergencies, accidents, fires or incidents.
Dr Rizwan Naseer said that the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre will keep an eye on the rescue operations happening across the province on an ongoing basis.
The centre will report and manage emergency response and deployment of rescue personnel and vehicles.
The extensive arrangements are meant to ensure the safety of citizens during Eid Milad-Un-Nabi celebrations, especially at public places where people may gather in big numbers and processions are likely to happen.
Rescue 1122 has asked citizens to help the rescuers and emergency services in the celebrations and to adhere to safety rules.
