Web desk: All private schools and colleges across Sindh will remain closed on January 9 after private education associations announced a province-wide protest against what they call harassment by anti-corruption officials.
They describe it as an attack on the dignity and autonomy of educational institutions.
Sindh to enjoy a 3 day holiday
As January 9 falls on a Friday this week, students across Sindh will be able to enjoy a three-day holiday. It will comprise Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Grand Alliance of Private School Associations announced the province-wide protest during a press conference, reports Times of Karachi.
They represent sixteen private education bodies that operate across urban and rural districts in the province.
The alliance announced January 8 as a Black Day and called on parents, teachers, and school administrations to unite against what it termed illegal interference.
Alliance leaders said anti-corruption officials were overstepping their authority by visiting schools directly. Even though court orders allow only data verification.
According to the Grand Alliance, the verification process should take place only at the Directorate of Private Institutions’ office, not through surprise visits to school campuses.
They claimed that armed teams entering schools, recording videos. And issuing statements violated court orders and spread fear among students, parents, and staff.

Sindh uniform examination syllabus
Recently, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah announced the implementation of a uniform examination syllabus (UES) for all education boards across the province for the first time in Sindh.
This marks the first time that classes 9 and 10 will be assessed under a common framework.
