Honda is reportedly preparing to introduce its 7th-generation City in Pakistan at the upcoming Pakistan Auto Parts Show (PAPS), potentially marking a significant refresh of the company’s sedan lineup. If launched, the new model could replace the 6th-generation City, which has been available in the Pakistani market since 2021.
Speculation about the new City gained momentum after a teaser was posted on the official Pakistan Auto Show Facebook page. While the teaser does not explicitly name Honda or the City, its styling appears to resemble the 7th-generation Honda City currently sold in international markets.
Honda introduced the latest-generation City globally in 2019, with subsequent updates introduced in markets such as India and Thailand.
The model is based on Honda’s GN platform and is sold internationally in both sedan and hatchback body styles. However, the hatchback version is primarily available in selected Southeast Asian markets, making its potential introduction in Pakistan less likely.
Honda City: engine and features
International variants of the sedan are powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine capable of producing approximately 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. Transmission options vary by market and include both manual and CVT gearboxes.
Top-spec international variants offer a range of modern features, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera and Honda Sensing safety technologies.
The Pakistani-spec City, however, may come with a different equipment package. Automakers typically modify vehicle specifications for local markets to maintain competitive pricing, meaning some features available internationally may not be offered in Pakistan.
Honda City Pakistan launch and price
Honda has yet to officially confirm the new City’s specifications, booking schedule or price for the Pakistani market.
It is also unclear whether the company plans to formally launch the new model at PAPS or merely showcase it to visitors. Further details are expected if Honda confirms plans to introduce the 7th-generation City in Pakistan.
