Hot and dry weather continued to prevail in Karachi on Wednesday, with the maximum temperature reaching 38.5°C for the second consecutive day, despite a drop in humidity levels.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong sunshine and light sea breezes contributed to the hot conditions, particularly during the afternoon. Winds blew mainly from the northeast and northwest throughout much of the day.
The Meteorological Department recorded humidity at 17% on Wednesday, while the maximum temperature remained at 38.5°C.
The department’s Early Warning Centre has forecast that hot and dry weather will persist in Karachi over the next three days. Winds from the northeast and northwest are also expected alongside sea breezes.
However, the department said that low daytime humidity made the development of heatwave-like conditions unlikely during the forecast period. Meanwhile, several districts of rural Sindh also experienced intense heat on Wednesday. Temperatures reached 41°C in Mithi and 40°C in Shaheed Benazirabad, according to the Meteorological Department.
