How many villages in Rawalpindi Division declared model villages?

A major development initiative has been approved to transform seventeen villages in the Rawalpindi Division into model villages under the Annual Development Program.

The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 2.220 billion, aims to significantly upgrade municipal services in remote rural areas across three districts.

The inner sources revealed that the scheme will focus on providing clean drinking water, improving drainage systems, and paving roads and streets to enhance living standards.

As part of the plan, water filtration plants will be installed to ensure access to safe drinking water.

The government will also recruit new sanitary workers to maintain cleanliness and ensure proper waste disposal. In addition, new dispensaries will be established as Basic Health Units to strengthen primary healthcare services in the selected villages. The list of the villages declared model villages is as follows.

In Rawalpindi District, the nine villages included in the project are Nara Bagwan, Dhok Gujran, Misrial, Thia, Kaliyal, Meena Potha, Kot Rajgan, Sindhu Syedan, and Matoor.

Four villages in Attock District, including Pind Fateh, Mithal, Kot Fateh Khan and Garshin/Jund Bunder, have also been selected in this respect.

Meanwhile, in Chakwal District, development work will be carried out in Jhatla, Kot Sarang, Malhal Mughlan, and Malikwal.

Officials said contracts for the improvement works will be awarded on February 25. The project is expected to be completed within six months and will be directly supervised by the respective Deputy Commissioners, along with members of the National and Provincial Assemblies, to ensure transparency and timely execution.
