The city traffic police in Rawalpindi on Thursday announced the issuance of Juvenile Driving Permits for teenagers aged 16 to 18. Now, the teenagers can get their Juvenile Driving Permit only for a motorbike or scooter up to 125 cc.
Punjab government started this initiative of permit issuance to facilitate the youth of the province.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam said that the authorities will issue the Juvenile Driving Permit to the girls and boys aged 16 to 18.
CTO Rawalpindi said that “wearing a helmet will be mandatory even when driving with a driving permit.”
“Juvenile driving permits will be cancelled for serious and multiple traffic violations,” he further added.
How to get a permit?
The process to get a Juvenile Driving Permit is not difficult. To get a permit, the listed documents/requirements are mandatory.
- Smart Card/Form B
- To get a permit, the presence of a guardian is necessary
Permit fee:
If the age of the applicants is 16, they will have to pay Rs 1000. On the other hand, the applicant’s age is between 17 and 18, so they will pay Rs 500 to get their Juvenile Driving Permit.
