Pakistani all-rounder Hussain Talat suffered a shoulder injury while fielding during the second ODI against Bangladesh. Pakistan had set a target of 275 runs for Bangladesh in the second one-day match being played in Dhaka.
During Bangladesh’s chase of the 275-run target, Talat was injured while fielding and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the team’s medical staff provided him with immediate attention on the field. After an initial examination, Talat was shifted to a hospital for further, more detailed assessment.
The PCB stated that the nature and severity of the injury will be determined after a complete medical examination by doctors. Meanwhile, in the second ODI of the three-match series, Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan has flouted sportsmanship.
A unique incident occurred in the 39th over of Pakistan’s innings during the second ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Dhaka. On a delivery from spinner Mehidy Hasan, Mohammad Rizwan played a straight defensive shot. The ball went back towards the bowler and hit his foot. Meanwhile, Salman Ali Agha, who was at the non-striker’s end, had stepped out of his crease.
Salman tried to pick up the ball and return it to Mehidy Hasan while still outside the crease. However, the ball bounced before reaching Salman and hit the stumps. Salman was still out of his crease, and the third umpire was consulted, who declared him run out.
While returning to the pavilion, Salman Ali Agha showed his frustration, which also irritated Bangladeshi wicketkeeper Liton Das. However, Mohammad Rizwan, the umpire, and his teammates calmed him down.
The video of this controversial run-out quickly went viral on social media. Former cricketers and fans criticised the Bangladeshi captain, saying the act went against the spirit of the game.
