The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the nominees for the Player of the Month award for June.
New Zealand’s Nathan Smith, Bangladesh’s Mosaddek Hossain, and India’s Shubman Gill have been shortlisted for the prestigious monthly award following their impressive performances in international cricket.
Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain made a remarkable return to international cricket after a four-year absence and played a key role in his team’s ODI series victory over Australia. He scored an unbeaten 86 runs and also claimed two wickets in the first ODI.
New Zealand’s Nathan Smith impressed in the Test series against England, taking 16 wickets during the series.
India’s Shubman Gill also delivered outstanding performances across Tests and ODIs. He scored a match-winning 154-run innings in an ODI against Afghanistan and was named the Player of the Series after accumulating 238 runs.

The pace bowler finished as the series’ leading wicket-taker with 16 dismissals and deservedly earned the Player of the Series award after playing a pivotal role in New Zealand’s comeback.
Although New Zealand fell short in the opening Test at Lord’s, Smith delivered a standout performance, taking three wickets in the first innings before producing a magnificent 6 for 70 in the second. He continued to make crucial breakthroughs throughout the remainder of the series, helping the visitors win the final two Tests and secure a famous series victory.
With several frontline fast bowlers sidelined through injury, Smith stepped up to lead an inexperienced pace attack, producing match-winning spells and establishing himself as New Zealand’s standout performer.
India captain Shubman Gill enjoyed an outstanding month with the bat, delivering impressive performances in both Test and ODI cricket.
Gill began June with a superb 126 in India’s innings victory over Afghanistan in the one-off Test. His 11th Test century, featuring 15 boundaries and a six, highlighted his elegant stroke play and composure at the crease.
The right-handed batter carried his excellent form into the ODI series, where he accumulated 238 runs in two innings. He scored a fluent 84 off 66 balls in the opening ODI before producing a brilliant 154 off just 110 deliveries in Lucknow, earning widespread praise for his match-winning performances.
