The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has initiated a load management system for its consumers to ensure a proper power supply.

In its post on X, IESCO said that load management has been started across the connected regions because of a gap between electricity demand and supply.

According to IESCO, the region’s current electricity demand is around 2,000 megawatts, while the company is receiving a quota of about 1,600 megawatts from the national grid.

The difference between demand and available supply has led to the introduction of load management in the IESCO region.

IESCO said no feeder will face more than two and a half hours of load management within a 24-hour period.

The company said the load management will be ended once sufficient electricity is available according to demand.

IESCO also said its complaint staff are fully active to deal with individual electricity and transformer-related complaints.

The department has also apologised to their consumers for any temporary disruption caused by the current situation.
