The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday to issue instructions regarding government officials and resources being used in marches, rallies or processions towards Islamabad.
Following the court’s order, the KP police have issued directions to all police units, regional police officers and district police officers for strict compliance.
The directions state that no government official should be compelled or induced to participate in any march or procession heading towards the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
The court also directed that government vehicles, machinery, equipment, public funds and other resources must not be used to facilitate such marches or rallies.
Officials facing any coercion or inducement have been directed to report the matter to the relevant authorities.

The directions were issued in compliance with the IHC order dated September 14, 2026, in WP No. 4421/2026.
‘After IHC decision no one can storm Islamabad’
Federal Minister for Interior of Pakistan Mohsin Naqvi said on Friday that after the decision by the IHC, no one can storm the Federal capital.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the interior minister stated that anyone who disobeys the court orders will face contempt of court.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that many heavy losses have been suffered in the past. If fire is opened on the jawans, they will not remain silent.
He added that law enforcement agencies have been instructed to stop them by every possible means.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that if protests are to be held, they should take place in one’s own area. Adding that permission to storm Islamabad will not be granted.
