The administration of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has confirmed that former prime minister Imran Khan was shifted to the hospital for a scheduled eye treatment.
According to an official press brief issued on April 28, 2026, Imran Khan was brought from Adaila Jail for a follow-up procedure related to his eye condition. Doctors conducted a detailed examination before the procedure and found him to be clinically stable, while diagnostic imaging indicated improvement in his condition.
The statement said that, after obtaining informed consent and under standard monitoring protocols, Khan was administered the fourth dose of an intravitreal injection under microscopic guidance. The procedure was carried out as a day-care surgery, following all precautionary measures.
Hospital administration stated that Khan remained vitally stable throughout his stay before, during and after the procedure and was later discharged with instructions for further care and follow-up.

Separately, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Gohar Ali Khan said on X, the party had been informed that Khan was taken to PIMS for an eye injection and medical check-up. He reiterated concerns regarding medical access, urging authorities to allow treatment under the supervision of personal doctors and in the presence of family members, calling it a fundamental right.

Media reports suggest he has undergone medical check-ups, including treatment related to his eyes, while in jail.
He received treatment from specialists at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad, where he was provided with proper medical care.
Officials have not shared detailed medical updates publicly, but say arrangements are made as required.
