Pakistani wrestler Inam Butt could face a ban after testing positive for doping during the Asian Beach Games in China in April, according to sources.
The two-time gold medallist reportedly underwent a doping test while competing at the Games, with the results later returning positive.
Sources close to Inam said he had taken medication to treat an eye-related condition before the competition. They maintained that the medicine was prescribed for medical treatment and was not intended to enhance his strength or performance.
Inam has reportedly submitted details of the medication to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), along with his medical scans and the prescription issued by his doctor.
According to the sources, WADA had permitted Inam to use the medication for one year. The wrestler is currently in discussions with anti-doping authorities to explain the circumstances surrounding the positive test.

Inam could face disciplinary action if WADA is not satisfied with his explanation and the medical evidence he has submitted.
