India opener Abhishek Sharma is discharged from hospital but the decision on whether he will play the ICC T20 World Cup game between India and Namibia will be taken before the game today.  

Hospitalisation Caused by Illness

It should be noted that Abhishek Sharma was admitted in a hospital after arriving in New Delhi due to stomach infection and fever. Following his arrival medical attention was considered necessary as he was not feeling well.

Team Update before Namibia Clash

Speaking to the media a day before the match against Namibia, the Indian team player Tilak Varma gave an update on Abhishek’s condition. He said that upon his arrival at New Delhi, some medical examinations were necessary.

According to Tilak Varma, all the test results of Abhishek came out fine and he has been discharged from the hospital now.

With one day still to go before the match the team management will still be monitoring his condition, and making a final decision as to whether or not he will be able to play.

Bumrah Declared Fit

On another note, a good news for the Indian side, the fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is reported to be fit after recovery from illness.

Tilak Varma informed that Bumrah was training with the team and is in better condition ahead of the upcoming fixture.

India’s Position in Group A

Defending champions India are placed in Group A together with Pakistan, the United States, Namibia and the Netherlands.

The Indian team started their campaign on a strong note and won by 29 runs against the United States in their first match of the tournament.
