The Sindh Colleges Department has released the merit lists for Intermediate admissions in government colleges across Karachi.
The admission lists for students seeking enrollment in public colleges have been published, with admissions to preferred colleges being granted strictly on merit.
According to the Director General Colleges, more than 160,000 applications were received across Sindh for Intermediate admissions. Of these, 98,646 applications were submitted by students in Karachi, the highest number from any city in the province.
The Education Department has advised shortlisted students to confirm their admissions by July 31 to complete the admission process.

As the end of summer vacations approaches, parents and students across Sindh are questioning whether the government will extend the holidays due to the expected extreme heat and humid weather in August 2026.
With schools scheduled to reopen soon, concerns have grown after the Pakistan Meteorological Department indicated that a heatwave is likely to persist across the province during August. Karachi and other coastal areas are expected to experience intense heat and high humidity, making temperatures feel even more uncomfortable.
Alongside the heat, monsoon rains are also forecast in different parts of Sindh, which could create commuting challenges for students and educational institutions.
Despite the speculation, the Sindh Education Department has not issued any official notification or announcement regarding an extension of summer vacations. Authorities have also given no indication of changes to the academic calendar, meaning schools are currently expected to reopen on August 1 as scheduled.
It is worth noting that the Sindh government also did not extend summer vacations last year, with educational institutions reopening according to the announced academic calendar.
For now, parents and students are awaiting any further decision from provincial authorities on whether weather conditions will lead to a change in the reopening schedule.
