Multiple trusted tech sources including MacRumors 9to5Mac and Appletrack have gathered supply chain reports analyst notes and early leaks that together give the clearest early picture of what the iPhone 18 Pro lineup could look like when it launches in September 2026.
Reports suggest Apple is preparing a major focus on performance efficiency battery life and camera intelligence. The iPhone 18 Pro is shaping up to be one of the most significant internal upgrades in recent years even if its overall design remains familiar.
The lineup is expected to include two Pro models with display sizes of six point three inches and six point nine inches. There are also early indications that a foldable iPhone could arrive in the same year while the standard iPhone 18 may shift to a later release in early 2027.
On the design side most leaks point to a familiar exterior with subtle refinements rather than a full redesign. The biggest changes are expected inside the device where Apple appears to be planning a major leap in processing power and system efficiency.
The upcoming models are rumoured to feature a new A20 Pro chip built on a two-nanometer process that could deliver noticeably faster performance while using less power. This chip is also expected to integrate memory more efficiently at the hardware level which may improve speed and energy management.
Connectivity upgrades are also expected with an Apple C2 modem supporting advanced 5G performance along with better power efficiency. Support for WiFi 7 Bluetooth 6 and Thread connectivity has also been mentioned in early reports.
Display improvements may include a refined LTPO+ panel and a noticeably smaller Dynamic Island. Some leaks suggest Apple is working toward under screen Face ID components which could reduce the size of the front cutout even further though it may not disappear completely.
Camera upgrades appear to be a major highlight. The main sensor is expected to remain forty eight megapixels but with a variable aperture system that would allow more control over depth and lighting similar to professional cameras. The telephoto system may also receive improvements for better low light performance and reduced noise.
Battery capacity is expected to grow especially in the Pro Max model which could feature one of the largest batteries ever in an iPhone. Some reports suggest it may also become slightly thicker and heavier to accommodate the increased power needs.
While many details are still unconfirmed there is strong agreement among industry analysts that the iPhone 18 Pro will represent a meaningful step forward in Apple hardware evolution even if some features such as fully under-display Face ID may arrive later than expected.
