India-backed propaganda account ‘Bahott Baloch’ permanently banned from X

India-backed propaganda account ‘Bahott Baloch’ permanently banned from X

An India-backed propaganda account on X has been banned permanently, according to reports on Wednesday.

The account had been known to spread misleading information on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, and has now been suspended.

Indian propaganda X account ‘Bahot Baloch’ suspended

Before this, many other propaganda accounts have been suspended as well. One of these is the ‘Bahot Baloch’ account.

According to the reports, the Bahot Baloch X account was a controversial social media handle. The account spread hate and misleading information against Pakistan’s armed forces and intelligence agencies.

Earlier, the same anti state X account, “Bahott Baloch”, confirmed that Salim Baloch, alias Momal, was a BLA commander and was killed during the recent Herof 2.0 operation in Balochistan.

Analysts say that misinformation campaigns such as these can not only undermine accountability. But they also exploit sensitive issues like enforced disappearances in Balochistan for personal or political gain.

Propaganda campaign on Quetta Chaman Pathak blast exposed

Previously, Balochistan Reality Check examined the claims that had been made by the social media accounts reportedly influenced by India’s intelligence agency RAW about the Quetta–Chaman Phatak blast. According to the reports, there were clear discrepancies in the information shared by different X accounts.

According to the reports, contradictory figures were presented regarding the number of FC personnel in the spreadsheets shared by various accounts.

One account mentioned 6 officers and 78 personnel, and another claimed 9 JCOs and 51 personnel, while a third account reported 6 JCOs and 58 personnel.
