Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam thanked Pakistan for taking a principled stance and extending unwavering support to Iran at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
In a statement, the ambassador said Pakistan voted against an anti-Iran resolution at the UN Human Rights Council and praised the country’s principled role under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
He said Pakistan took a courageous step by calling for a vote on what he described as an unjust resolution against Iran, adding that political and baseless actions targeting Iran have now failed for the third consecutive time.
The ambassador stated that the 12-day aggression, externally backed unrest, and attempts to misuse international institutions had failed, crediting Pakistan’s support as a reflection of its commitment to justice, human rights, multilateralism, and national sovereignty.
Reza Amiri Moghaddam added that Iran will always remember and appreciate Pakistan’s consistent and principled support.
