The current Pakistan and Afghanistan situation and the Iran US Israel situation could make Hajj 2026 travel harder or cause a delay in it.
Some countries have closed air routes, and major airlines have cancelled or rerouted flights. This could affect international flight schedules as well.
Hajj 2026: Will flights get cancelled?
If the Iran US Israel tensions continue, flights to and from Saudi Arabia could face delays or cancellations.
As of current time, Saudi Arabia has implemented a partial closure of its airspace. This is particularly along its border with Iraq and over the Persian Gulf.
The current tensions between Iran, the US, and Israel could affect Hajj 2026 worldwide, mainly through flight disruptions and travel delays.
Fuel prices may trigger hike in flight prices
Governments might issue safety advisories. Additionally, higher fuel costs could make flights even more expensive.
Saudi authorities can also increase security measures or adjust entry procedures if the situation gets worse.
However, no official statement is seen in this regard, and this remains just an observation.
Pakistan’s Hajj operation will officially begin on April 18. The first Hajj flight will depart on that day carrying pilgrims to the holy cities.
According to sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a total of four flights will leave on the first day and take pilgrims to Madinah.
When will flights for Hajj 2026 begin?
Flights for Hajj 2026 will start on April 18, according to reports. The first flights will leave from Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Multan.
Pilgrims will travel to Madinah first in phases. After their stay there, they will continue to Makkah.
Under the government Hajj scheme, a total of 468 flights will be operated to take pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
This year, 119,000 pilgrims will perform Hajj through the official scheme. The Ministry of Religious Affairs said that all arrangements have been finalised.
Flight schedules, accommodation, transport, and food arrangements have been coordinated with the Saudi authorities.
Officials added that pilgrims will be informed next week about their flight details, departure times, and training schedule.
Training workshops are being held across the country. These workshops guide pilgrims on Hajj rituals, travel instructions, and safety measures so that they can travel well prepared and safe.
The ministry also said special counters will be set up at airports to help pilgrims. Medical checkups and vaccinations are being completed, and support staff will be available to guide pilgrims.
This support is especially for elderly people and those travelling for the first time, so they do not face any difficulties.
