Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Field Marshal Asim Munir on Tuesday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the ISPR, in the meeting, the two leaders discussed regional peace and stability, the security situation and ongoing political and economic developments in the region.
On this occasion, it was also agreed to further strengthen mutual cooperation and expand relations in various fields.
Both sides also acknowledged Pakistan’s continuous efforts to encourage the peaceful resolution of disputes and promote understanding and cooperation among regional parties.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to peace and stability in the region.
The Pakistan Army spokesperson said that both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations and maintain close consultation on matters of mutual interest with the shared objective of promoting peace, prosperity and stability in the region.
Iranian President Pezeshkian arrives in Pakistan
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian landed in Pakistan earlier today on an official visit after talks between Tehran and Washington in Switzerland, which were mediated by Islamabad.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Sharif accorded a warm and grand welcome to the Iranian president upon his arrival at Nur Khan Airbase.
A 21-gun salute was also presented in honour of President Masoud Pezeshkian on his arrival in Pakistan.
Pakistan Air Force JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft escorted and saluted the Iranian president’s plane as it entered Pakistani airspace and arrived at Nur Khan Airbase.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was also part of President Pezeshkian’s delegation.
Later, the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived at the Prime Minister’s House.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed him. The Iranian President was presented with a guard of honour upon his arrival at PM House.
PM Shehbaz introduced President Pezeshkian with other cabinet members at the PM House.
The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, also met PM Shehbaz and other cabinet members after the guard of honour ceremony.
