A western weather system is entering the upper and central parts of the country, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasting more rain across various regions from today until August 23.
According to the Met Office, rain is expected in several areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir from this evening until August 23, including Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur. Heavy rainfall is also likely at some places.
From August 21 to 23, rain is expected in several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Shangla and Buner.
Rain is also forecast for Kohat, Hangu, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber and Orakzai, as well as Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Karak, Bannu and Waziristan.
From this evening until the morning of August 23, Islamabad and parts of upper Punjab are also expected to receive rain. Areas likely to be affected include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang and Attock.
Rain is also expected in Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad and Wazirabad. Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib may also receive rainfall.
The Met Office has further forecast rain in Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal and Pakpattan. Dera Ghazi Khan is likely to experience rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
From August 21 to 23, several areas of Gilgit-Baltistan are also expected to receive rain, including Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche and Nagar.
Meanwhile, most parts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain hot and humid today and tomorrow. Rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is forecast in Musa Khel, Barkhan, Zhob, Kalat and Khuzdar.
